Weightloss
Apart from a few unfortunate medical conditions we gain weight due to developing bad habits. That's it, there is no profound wisdom that I can impart, no deep insight I can offer! On the other hand it has nothing to do with 'willpower' and that means that people can do something about it.
Allow me to tell you a little story, it may start to sound quite familiar. "I'm going to go on a diet...tomorrow. I was going to start today but some friends came over and I didn't want to be rude. I was going to only eat a salad but those chips looked sooo good." There is a follow up to this little story for those who manage to get past that point. "I lost 10 kilos in boot camp/training/liver cleansing, I've hit my goal so now I can relax for a bit. I deserve a treat after all that suffering right?"
It's really easy to beat yourself up when you look at a diet or set yourself a weight target only to put the kilos straight back on. It's easy to feel like you are a complete failure, perhaps even giving up in disgust "why even try?" or making excuses. Here's the thing though. Unless you belong to a very fortunate tiny portion of the population you were setting yourself up to fail all along. Diets don't work in the long term, weight targets don't work in the long term either.
The only thing that can get you where you want to be, the only realistic way to shed weight is to change your habits. There are a few ways to do this. One is to religiously follow an expensive diet plan filled with slightly yuck tasting, bland and pricey, packaged weightloss foods. Another way is using an artificial appetite suppressant like a gastric band. This dangerous invasive surgery wraps a band around your stomach which prevents you from physically being able to take on more than a small handful of food at once.
There is another way though. Change your habits and attitude to food! I use a tried and true method called Virtual Gastric Banding or VGB to completely change your old bad habits where food is concerned. The usual result is increased energy levels, food becoming a joy again rather than a way of hiding from the rest of the world and an increased sense of self worth. Over the course of 4 sessions spread over a month you can start to lose weight in a way that stays with you permanently. You will find it easy to lose weight in a safe, sustainable way until you reach a weight you are comfortable with and then you will stay there. You won't feel like you are depriving yourself of your favourite foods. In fact, you won't feel you are giving up anything at all.
Get in touch with me to book your first appointment now and start down an easy and pain free path to a better life as you become the person you want to be.
